Academic Advisory Panel
Academies Australasia Polytechnic has established an advisory panel of scholars from around the world to guide academic development and act as a sounding board for new initiatives. We are able to access their expertise and draw on their rich experience to ensure our programs are benchmarked against international best practice and are delivered through innovative teaching-learning approaches.
The panel consists of:
Dr Chee Kai Chan PhD Medical Sciences (ANU)
Dr Chan is a lecturer for the Department of Genetics at La Trobe University.
Dr Patrice Braun MA(JCU), PhD(Ballarat)
Dr Braun is Deputy Director of the Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness and a senior research fellow at the University of Ballarat. She has held a number of positions in industry in Europe, North America and Australia. Dr Braun speaks four languages and is an acknowledged expert in on-line teaching-learning. Professor Patrick Hutchinson, BA(Hons), MSc(City), PhD(Bath), FCPA
Prof Hutchinson is Emeritus Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of New England, NSW, Australia. Prof Hutchinson has an international reputation, particularly for his research into financing small -medium enterprises. His research is empirical, quantitative and based on agency theory. Professor Kwaku Atuahene-Gima, BSc (Ghana), MCom(NSW), PhD(Wollongong)
Prof Kwaku is an internationally known Marketing scholar and a member of the faculty of the internationally renowned China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) where he is the Department Chair of Marketing and the Director of the Centre of Marketing and Innovation. Dr Patricia Murtagh, BA(Humberside), MSc (Stafford), PhD(UWE)
Dr Murtagh is the Chair of the Board of Studies at The York Management School and a teaching fellow in Strategy at The York Management School, where she teaches and researches 'Strategic Management and Organisational Change'. Dr Murtagh's PhD was in the field of knowledge management in fast growing companies. She has over 12 years experience in teaching strategy and strategy related topics to a range of audiences, including senior executives, post-graduate students in China and Hong Kong and Eastern Europe as well as undergraduates in UK universities.
Professor Peter Sloane, BA (Econ)(Sheffield), PHD(Strathclyde), FRSE
Prof Sloane is a leading international authority on labour markets and was formerly the Director of the Welsh Economy and Labour Market Evaluation and Research Centre, University of Wales, Swansea, UK. Prof Sloane’s other roles include: Professorial Fellow, University of Melbourne, Research Fellow, IZA, Bonn, member of the European Low Wage Employment Network (LOWeR), Vice President, International Association of Sports Economists. Professor George Wright, BSc, PhD (Brunel)
George is a senior professor at Durham University, UK. George is an internationally renowned scholar in managerial decision making where he also edits a major journal.
