How do I apply for Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning

AMI Education offers students Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning
(RPL) towards all courses to those who have accredited qualifications and/or professional experience in the relevant areas. To apply for Credit Transfer/RPL when you fill out your application form contact applications@ami.vic.edu.au

How does a Credit Transfer and RPL effect my course?

By applying for Credit Transfer/RPL students may be able to complete their course of study earlier and if you formally are granted recognition for previous studies you may be able to reduce the course fee costs

How can I find out my results?

You will receive feedback from your teachers every semester which includes your results.
Higher Education Students can log into University of Ballarat Student Centre. Or email enquiries@ami.vic.edu.au

Student Services are able to issue you a printed copy of your results.

I have not passed all my units, what shall I do?

If you are not passing units you are required to apply for re-assessment. You need to email: enquiries@ami.vic.edu.au

Appropriate support/intervention strategies will be arranged throughout the semester to assist you in
achieving course requirements.

How do I apply for my certificate?

You are eligible to receive your AMI Education certificate if you have successfully completed your studies.
You successfully met all the assessment requirements of the course you are enrolled in.
You have paid all your tuition fees .

How can I suspend my studies?

You are only able to suspend your studies in limited situations. (This information is in accordance to the
National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education to Overseas Students
2007). Once you have enrolled in a course, the institute can NOT ALLOW you to suspend your studies, except on the grounds of compassionate and compelling circumstances, for example, illness evidenced by a doctor’s certificate or other exceptional circumstances beyond your control like bereavement.
If you suspend your studies, the institute must report the variation of enrolment to DEST (Department of Education Science & Training).
The suspension may affect your student visa and you are advised to contact DIAC (Department of
Immigration And Citizenship). A suspension can not be granted unless you present the appropriate documentation e.g. airline tickets, proof of reason for suspension. To obtain approval, you need to contact our registry department at applications@ami.vic.edu.au 14 days prior to the requested suspension date.
You can suspend your studies for a maximum period of one semester. Once the suspension is processed, you will receive a written letter granting the suspension.

Do I need to advise of my change of Address and contact details?

Student visa condition 8533 requires you to notify your educational provider of any changes in your residential address within 7 days. Failure to do so is in breach of Condition 8533 and may result in a cancellation of your student visa by DIAC. If you have changed your address or contact details please notify our registry department applications@ami.vic.edu.au

What happens if I am sick and am unable to attend class?

Students who are absent should see a registered medical practitioner and obtain a medical certificate. The medical certificate must state that you have a medical condition and the period you will be unfit for class.
You will need to give a photocopy of the medical certificate to your teacher and keep the original to provide to DIAC if they request it.

How does my OSHC Worldcare card apply if I am sick?

OSHC Worldcare cards take approximately 5 weeks to process from the day you commence your class at AMI Education. They will be distributed in class.

If you are sick you may visit the doctor pay for your visit and keep the receipt so you can claim some money back from OSHC Worldcare when you have receive the card.

Am I eligible for a concession card for public transport?

International students are not entitled to concession prices for public transport.
